AM: “Sailing the Seven Stars” + Star Navigation Maps & Pirate Gear Making
PM: Origins of the Species + Design Your Own Evolving Sea Creature
Half Day Tickets (10am-11:30am or 12:30pm-2pm) cost £18 (1 child accompanied by an adult) . Full Day tickets (2 workshops 10am-2pm with an hour lunch break) cost £30 per child (accompanied by an adult).

Join our stargazing pirates as they chart their course across the sky! Discover how sailors used constellations like Polaris and Orion to navigate the oceans long before GPS, and hear tales of Bournemouth’s very own pirate past.
Activity: Star Navigation Maps & Pirate Gear Making
Craft your own pirate compass rose and celestial chart to steer your ship by the stars. Then make your own pirate hat or eye patch and set sail on a creative adventure!
PM Session: “Evolution and the Ocean”
Planetarium Show: Origins of the Species
Journey through time with Charles Darwin as we explore the foundations of life on Earth. This immersive, full-dome experience reveals how evolution shaped the ocean’s earliest creatures and gave rise to the vast diversity we see today.
Activity: Design Your Own Evolving Sea Creature
Create your own imaginary sea creature and decide how it adapts to survive in a changing ocean. Will it grow fins to swim faster, or glow in the deep sea to attract food? Let evolution guide your design!
Advance payment and booking are required to secure a place. We do require a parent or guardian to stay with the attending children for all of our sessions. One £18.00 ticket entitles 1 CHILD and 1 ADULT to attend a Science Zone Workshop. Please note there is an additional charge of £2.00 for any extra non-participating children and/or adults up to a maximum of 3 due to space constrictions.
